Perma-Fix Environmental Services Hires Two Senior Industry Experts

ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/07/15 -- Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: PESI) today announced the hiring of two senior industry experts, Jeff Bowers as Vice President of Nuclear Services Performance Assurance & Business Development and Tony Mason, for the positions of Corporate Radiation Safety Officer and Certified Health Physicist.

Jeff Bowers' expertise includes environmental restoration, decontamination and demolition project management, decommissioning, engineering management, business development, construction engineering and health physics management. Prior to joining Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Mr. Bowers ran his own business providing consulting services for nuclear decommissioning sites in Canada. Previously, he spent nine years at Safety and Ecology Corporation, which was later acquired by Perma-Fix, where he was a senior project manager leading major projects. Mr. Bowers spent thirteen years at Fluor Daniel. In his new role at Perma-Fix Environmental Services, Mr. Bowers will focus on nuclear services performance assurance and business development where he will be responsible for decommissioning and decontamination projects and opportunities for the DOE, FUSRAP, Canada and commercial clients. He has a BS from the University of Alabama and a BA in Management from Wilmington College and is currently completing a master's in environmental management and sustainability at Harvard Extension School. 

Tony Mason's expertise is in the health physics field where he has managed over 100 radiological task orders involving investigations, surveys and remediation. He is experienced with mixed waste, special nuclear material, naturally occurring radioactive materials and a number of other radioactive substances. Prior to joining Perma-Fix, Mr. Mason was a principal health physicist with Cabrera Services, Inc. where he completed all hazards characterization and waste volume and cost estimation for a 20-megawatt reactor, among other responsibilities. Prior to that, Mr. Mason was a principal health physicist at Environmental Restoration Group where he developed and managed a full range of radiological investigation/remediation, remedial/removal actions at various sites. He held a number of other nuclear-related positions during his 33-year career. Mr. Mason holds an MS, Radiation Health Physics, University of Michigan; a BS Nuclear Medicine, Florida State University; and a BS, Applied Biology, Florida State University. He is also certified in comprehensive health physics by the American Board of Health Physics.
